We visited Jenny, Scott, Nicole, and Nate at Bemidji State Park where they were camping in August. Nicole likes to sleep in her own tent. Nate and Nicole get a campfire ready by splitting some kindling. Check out Nate's face!
We can still see the mountains from our kitchen window and from outside. Need some greenery and character added....maybe next winter.
On our way back leaving the picnic area by the river, Nate spotted 6 desert mountain sheep on the top ridge of the mountain. As we hiked we saw 4 more sheep. It is a rare sight to see!!!
Scott is very tempted to jump in the water to cool off, but the rocks are slippery for getting out of the water. The water is so deep and very clear!
Scott "skipping" a rock
Pouring water on our heads and on our shirts to cool off.
Scott, Jenny, Nicole, Nate, Butch and Marilyn walked through the desert, sliding down rocks, climbing up the sliding rock!! walking through rock canyons, seeing lizards, desert mountain sheep. We walked in 3 miles to Balance Rock Cove and had a picnic lunch beside the Colorado River, then hiked 3 miles back out.
"Slide Rock" Nate was the first one to slide down!
